Iceland Day 5

South Shore Adventure

Along the way we stop at the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss waterfall but you can walk behind it and through to the other side. We also stop at the majestic and much-photographed Skógafoss waterfall, with its impressive 60 m drop (196 ft). We visit Skógar Folk Museum and get a taste how Icelanders lived in past centuries. En route all day long - stunning views of glaciers, black sand coastline and impressive rock formations.

Skógafoss
The Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country with a width of 25 metres (82 feet) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft). Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days.

Seljalandsfoss
Iceland's most famous waterfall. Located among green fields and one is able to hike through the back of the falls and view them from the inside out. I was not able to do that cos so little time given, I would definitely like to go in on my next trip.

Iceland Day 4

Jökulsárlón

A large glacial lake in southeast Iceland situated 1.5 km away from the Altantic Ocean and is the deepest lake in Iceland. The lake was developed in 1948 after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The icebergs gather at the mouth of the lake's shallow exit, melt down into smaller ice blocks and roll out into the sea.

This tour is a very long tour and almost $200 (inclusive of a boat ride, $40) as it is very far away.  After taken the boat ride, I will say, it really not necessary and the time can be better spent on land to take more pictures and to see the bigger icebergs.
