Iceland Day 1

There is always an element of uncertainty from the moment you step off the plane to the day you step back into the plane when travelling to a place for the first time.  It was a cold invigorating early morning which I just loved and yes, I am finally in Iceland.  Slowly but surely I found my way to my Airbnb destination via the FlyBus and was able to had a good few hours of sleep before waking up to the start of my adventure.

Herein are my pictures that will paint a thousand words:

Hafnarfjörður

"harbour fjord” located about 20 mins from Reyklavik is the 3rd largest town.  It's a quiet community besides the water and everything is within walking distance.  This place is well known for it's 7,000 year old lava-field.  A stroll to Hellisgerði lava park was a great start to a beautiful day and the day ended with a beautiful sunset at the lovely harbor.  The town center is surrounded by quaint shops with numerous café and museum and art galleries.
