Extremely Long Trip To Sydney

Left St John's at 7:30 am to take the DLR bus to Port Aux Basques.  Bus ticket was $124. The bus was pretty full but enough seats for every one.  Made a mistake by sitting on the driver side so not much of a view.  It was a long gruesome bus ride with brief stop at gas station for toilet break and a half hour stop at Gander airport.  Finally got into Port Aux Basques, Maritime Ferry Terminal at 9:30 pm.

We got into the Ferry early and I was impressed with the ferry.  It almost like a cruise ship.  Had a late supper; the hot dog was the most decent food I have the entire day feeding myself with potato chips and cookies to take away the boring bus ride.  The cruise took off at 11:45 pm.  I slept on and off and arrived at Sydney at exactly 7 pm.  Couldn't get off till all the cars left, a van came by to pick the walk in passengers.  Arrived at the terminal and picked up my bag and thereafter took a cab to Sydney.   The fare was $63 and tax ride to Sydney another $30 - so altogether I spent $217 whereas my flight from Halfax to St John's was only $136.

I will never recommend this routing to any body.  This is both a time and money wasting mode of transportation.
